Cycle Travel Far North Queensland

I love travelling by bike.

Here is a little snippet of iPhone shots of my first cycle trip, with Cycle Queensland in Far Northern Queensland.

Next trip: Cycling across France in May with my mum – Stay tuned!Baby Platypus! (Or is it Platypi, plural?)

The sugar refining factory of Gordonvale.

So of course, this song is in my head for the rest of the day.

“Hope the crumbs in my pocket can keep me for another night
And if the blue sky mining company won’t come to my rescue
If the sugar refining company won’t save me
Who’s gonna save me?” – Midnight Oil

Campsite vistas – Gordonvale

Who needs a house and mortgage?

Checking everyone’s brakes at the top of the rainforest – before a big decent to sea level

This is how I roll. Darth’s the name. Darth Vader. *Cue heavy uphill breathing and you get the idea

The stunning Milla Milla falls, of Far North Queensland.

New friend! This gentleman is about to work on the Mercy Ship as a doctor off the coast of West Africa. These cyclists are a good bunch.

A rather large tree

“You cannot live a positive life with a negative mind”

A welcome into town from the school kids! Their teacher said they were too distracted to concentrate, with all these cyclists passing by.

The dreamy rolling hills of the hinterland

Queensland’s highest pub, and a curious mutt!

It had to be done!

Giant waterbottle. Love our Aussie kitsch

Orchid bonanza

A buttress root that took over a tree and killed it. Woah.

Opals in Opalton

Half way up the top of a large mountain

This guy just rode 600 k’s on a unicycle. WTF?
